“ Visited Mains of Scotstown on a Friday with my dog. Enjoyed drinks and food. Good range of drinks behind the bar. Having quite recently reopened we were plesently surprised with the range of food, we both had steak frites which was delicious. Service was great and they were fantastic with my dog. Would recommend a visit. The bad reviews are based on previous owners ”

“ Did a job here and Had my arm twisted by the chef and forced to have a Turkey dinner. Course - I agreed. The Turkey dinner was absolutely amazing, piping hot amd so tasty. The waitresses were lovely too and very informative. Compliments to the chef do that lovely meal, cooked to Perfection! ”
“ It has been a long time since we last ate at The Mains of Scotstown - nearly 30 years - and although the business has recently changed hands, we found the whole experience to be fantastic! The team were welcoming, friendly, very responsive when taking our order, bringing our meals and checking in to see if everything was ok with our food and service. The relationship of the team shone through, they interacted with each other comfortably and supported each other professionally. Tables were cleared and cleaned down hygienically, ready for their next guest arriving. The food was tasty, hot and the portions sizes were enough to satisfy our hunger - although it was 7.30pm, we were still in time to be served a roast lamb dinner. We would highly recommend The Mains of Scotstown to anyone searching for a lovely establishment to indulge in a very reasonably priced enjoyable meal and drinks. ”
“ Atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Staff are very friendly and could not do more to help. Food was amazing burger was so meaty and juicy and cooked to perfection ”
“ We went to the Mains of Scotstown for our work’s Christmas lunch. The staff were fantastic! Super friendly and very accommodating. The festive menu was really lovely, most of the table went for turkey but as it was a Sunday we were offered the option of the roast beef. I opted for the beef and offered how I would like it cooked (opted for medium-rare). The whole meal was lovely! Everyone enjoyed their starters, mains, & puddings... Although nothing can compete with my Mum’s trifle, the boozy trifle was enjoyable and definitely as described Delighted to have my local pub back, highly recommend visiting now that it’s under new management. Wishing the new owners and staff every success in the future. Look forward to visiting again soon. Ps loved the Christmas crackers, and the charities they support too! ”
“ What an amazing meal we had at Sunday lunch time for the Urban Wellness Float staff meal with all 9 of us having the festive menu. And not one person had any single issue with all three course. The salmon and prawn cocktail was awesome, huge prawns sitting on 3 slices of smoked salmon. The turkey main course was a big portion and I mean it was BIG. 2 large slices of of turkey breast covering 13 of the plate, roast tatties, mash, mealie, lovely glazed carrots and parsnips. Pigs and blankets. With gravy and cranberry sauce on the side. Puddings were great too. Big portions again. They even organised Yorkshire puddings to go with the turkey. Jessica and Mikey were so attentive from start to finish. Drinks came quickly and Mikey asking if we needed more throughout the meal. I am so glad me and mates are heading there on Friday this week for another festive dinner. Thanks to ALL staff including the kitchen for such an amazing experience. Roll on Friday... ”
